This tour is wonder - full!
Booking is easy and efficient. The orientation and check-in is, as well. The vessel is modern, sea-worthy and very well outfitted. The best part: Elvis, our Skipper and Guide! He brings a lifetime of regional and ocean experience into the whole experience. He has the perfect blend of sea-faring competence and personality. Marcellus and Gloria, who met us at the dock and guided us to the bears, are of the Homalco First Nation and are welcoming and expert stewards and interpreters. Safety is foremost. We were provided lunch, beverages and snacks. Elvis took extra effort on our trip to show us several whales and sea-lions.The Best Grizzly Experience but really a multi animal encounter
Although listed as Bear tour, it gave a lot of plusses. Whales, Sea lions, Eagles and of course the Grizzly. Shannon, our boat captain, really drove the show. Knowledgeable, whitty, very friendly, customer focused and in control. Together with her mate Kianna, they formed a super team on board. They were not time pressed and responded to any bear or whale spot by taking the time.Amazing trip which exceeded our expectations!
If you want to see grizzly bears UP CLOSE, yet SAFELY… book this tour!!! The entire experience with Big Animal Encounters was first class. The boat ride with Paul to and from the Orford Bay was very relaxing… we saw seals, sea lions, porpoises and a black bear from the boat. Once we got to Orford Bay, we had a nice lunch and then we were escorted on a 3 hour excursion to see the grizzly bears, by Stewart and Buck. They did a great job getting us into multiple top notch viewing spots. We saw 10 bears across the day!! We have traveled extensively to see wildlife across the world and this was some of the best viewing we’ve experienced of massive predators!Exploring Our Hidden Gems: The Discovery Islands Archipelago
